On the 5th of November, a group of 44 students and teachers travelled to Guilin, Mainland China. The purpose of the trip was to witness the work of ‘Lifeline Express’, a charitable organization that performs cataract operations on the poor and needy.
The activities include meeting the parents, cleaning the hospital train, watching the procedures and visiting the homes of families that had been affected. It was an emotional yet rewarding experience.
The group was also lucky enough to engage in some of the tourist attractions and cultural exchange programmes, such as watching the famous performance directed by Zhang Yimou.
This was a truly ‘eye-opening’ experience.
