The 120th Anniversary Prize-giving Day of Belilios Public School held on 26 November 2010 was a memorable one as different generations of graduates came home for the event.
There were former principals of the school, Mrs Lily Tan, Ms Sherifa Khan, Mrs Agnes Wong and Mrs Wong Mak Kit-ling, as well as parents, guests and past students. The guest of honour was Mrs Yvonne Law Shing Mo-han, the National Chief Knowledge Officer of Tax and Tax Partner-in-charge of the Hong Kong and China Lead Tax Services Group of Deloitte.
In her address to the school, the Principal, Ms Wendy Ho Fung-ping, commended the students on their outstanding academic results in the public examinations. She was also impressed with their remarkable performances in various inter-school competitions ranging from the music, drama and speech festivals to the Joint School Science Exhibition.
Dressed in green as an expression of her passion for the school colour, Mrs Yvonne Law attributed her mastery of both the English and Chinese languages to the excellent education she had received at Belilios. She also shared the ABCs of success with the current students: ‘Act appropriately, Be prepared, and Catch the right moment to act’.
The ceremony ended on a high note with wonderful performances from the School Choir and Full Orchestra.
