A Fish and Chips Lunch was held on 30th April 2012 in order to enrich students’ knowledge and understanding of the western culture. Twenty-five students took part in this activity and each of them was given a few pieces of fish fillets and some chips. Then they played a game called American versus British English where they were shown pictures of objects and were asked to name them in American and British English. Surprisingly, most of them did not know that in Britain, a metro is called the underground, whereas, in the United States, it is called a subway. We were glad that the participants could benefit from this game. It was a blast and we all had a wonderful time.
