S4 to S6 Literature in English students attended the public reading of Carol Ann Duffy, the first woman Poet Laureate of the United Kingdom, to the music performed by John Sampson in the Hong Kong International Literary Festival 2017 at the Grand Hall, Lee Shau Kee Lecture Centre, Centennial Campus, the University of Hong Kong.
Our students particularly enjoyed the recital of the witty yet subversive poems from Duffy’s famous collection The World’s Wife, which gives voice to the great wives of famous men in the world, such as Anne Hathaway, the wife of William Shakespeare.
Our students’ autographed books and their photo with the poetess would definitely bring back fond memories of the occasion in their journey of literary studies.
