On 15th March 2013 we had a whole-day staff development programme in the School Hall. Staff attended a workshop on the teachers’ liability & negligence run by the service provider ~ The Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs Association of Hong Kong. Through discussing court case examples and precedents, teaching staff were aware of the extent of the duty they owed students and the necessity of taking precautious steps to protect students against risks of injury. In addition, a sharing session was delivered by Mr. Yau Wai Lok Billy on his learning experience in mainstream school as a visually-impaired student. The talk allowed teachers to gain a deeper understanding on the specific educational needs of students with disabilities.
