On 9th May, eighteen S4 students visited the first Hong Kong cavern sewage treatment works (STW) in Stanley under Drainage Services Department. Since Hong Kong has scarce land resources, enhancing the use of caverns will support Hong Kong’s pursuit of sustainable development. The STW blends well with nearby environment and the odour nuisance there is little. The students learnt more about the operation of a secondary sewage treatment plant and the importance of conserving water in daily life.
