Our S4 (DSE) Visual Arts students visited the exhibition “Cézanne and Renoir Looking at the World – Masterpieces from the Musée de l’Orangerie and the Musée d’Orsay” at the Hong Kong Museum of Art on 9 May, 2025.
While visiting the exhibition, our students were thrilled to appreciate the real paintings of Cézanne, Renoir, and even Picasso up close, observing the details and brushstrokes of each Impressionist artwork before them.
Additionally, they explored other exhibitions at the Hong Kong Museum of Art. They also participated in interactive games related to contemporary mixed media art in “Art Personalised: Masterpieces from the HKMoA” and “Perceptual and Intellectual – Explorations into Everything and Oneself”. To conclude their visit to the museum that evening, they attended a contemporary creative calligraphy workshop, “Xu Bing in Hong Kong: Eying East, Wondering West – Square Word Calligraphy Classroom”.
They all learned and experienced a lot through practical observation and analysis of artworks during a guided tour led by our teacher, making the study of Visual Arts both fun and meaningful outside the classroom.
